Volvo EC230 Battery-Electric 23-Ton Excavator

The 23 ton Volvo EC230 electric excavator is a general-purpose machine designed for the same applications as diesel excavators of the same size, including excavation, soil transportation, and site leveling in the construction field, as well as waste and waste disposal in the recycling and waste treatment fields.

Its excavation and improvement capabilities are the same as those of similar diesel products in Volvo’s construction equipment series, and it supports the same accessories and services. The main difference is that it is powered by batteries. Due to the absence of an engine, direct emissions are zero, resulting in less noise, less maintenance, and lower total cost of ownership.

When the EC230 electric excavator is launched in 2024, it will join the lineup of Volvo CE’s six electric heavy-duty construction machinery, which is the industry’s largest choice of this kind.

Two other battery powered machines, Volvo Construction Equipment Company’s ECR25 electric compact excavator and L25 electric compact wheel loader, have now become part of this product series and have met various practical challenges in testing in Southern California. They have now been put into commercial production. Both have received enthusiastic praise from people who use them in various workplaces.
